:: Van Cortlandt Park: VCP ::

Van Cortlandt Park (VCP) is located in The Bronx, just north of the tip of Manhattan. Much cricket gets played here all summer long. The directions to Van Cortlandt Park are:

From New Jersey/Pennsylvania:
Take the NJ Tpk (I95) to the George Washington Bridge and exit on to the Henry Hudson Parkway North (upstate, Westchester), then follow **
From Manhattan:
Westside Highway to the Henry Hudson Parkway North, then follow ***

From Connecticut:
Take I95 south ALMOST to The George Washington Bridge and take the Henry Hudson Parkway North (upstate, Westchester) (i.e. you enter Manhattan, and get off I95 the last exit in Manhattan, before crossing the GWB), then follow ***.

***: Go over the bridge over the Harlem River (leaving Manhattan, now entering The Bronx - toll) and take exit 23 (Broadway). Turn right, (south) onto Broadway. Parking is a bit of a problem. Try to come in as few cars as possible.

:: Van Cortlandt Park: VCP (Alternate Route)::

Take Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridge

After either Bridge follow signs to Hutchinson River Parkway.
You will see HUTCH signs immediately after you cross Whitestone.
After you cross Throgs Neck you might want to follow signs for New England
Thruway [ or 95 North ] and then you will start seeing HUTCH signs.

Get on the Hutchinson River Parkway going North.
Get off at Exit 13.
Sign will say........"Cross County Parkway / Saw Mill River Parkway / Yonkers"

After exit you are automatically on the Cross County Parkway heading WEST.
The parkway will split BUT you can be on either side [stay on right side preferably].

Go all the way to the end.
Bear left at end of Cross County Parkway.
Sign will say......."Saw Mill Parkway SOUTH / Henry Hudson Parkway / GW Bridge"

At the split bear right..........on to Henry Hudson Parkway South.
Get off exit 23..........which is BROADWAY.......which is also first exit on the HHP.

When you get off Exit 23 you are on Broadway.
A left at the light will take you to the BIG PARK [Broadway & 252 street].
A right at the light will put you at the STABLES ground.

:: Van Cortlandt Park: Stable Field ::

This pitch is separate from most of the park, and is in fact on the NORTH side of the Henry Hudson Parkway. So when you take exit 23, you should go left, rather than right, onto Broadway. Stable Field is now on your right. Take the next light right (Mosholu Ave) and you can park behind the ground.

From Westchester/Upstate NY:
Sawmill Parkway south to Henry Hudson Parkway South, exit 23 (Broadway) will set you down at the ground. Turn left onto Broadway and you will be going south, we will be playing on one of the southern most pitches. If you turn right onto Broadway, you will see one pitch on your right. This is the "Stable Field". We sometimes play here. You can take the next right (Mosholu Ave) and park behind the ground if we are indeed playing here.

Subway:
Take the 1/9 line all the way to the end of the line and walk about 200 metres to the South end of Van Cortlandt Park. Alternate:

If you are driving from Manhattan, Connecticut or New Jersey you can also take the Major Deegan (route I87) North from I95. From Connecticut you get to I87 just before you would enter Manhattan. From New Jersey, you stay on I95 after the GWB and take the first exit upon leaving Manhattan (on to I87). From Manhattan, take the Westside highway but get on to the Cross Bronx (I95) North then I87 north.

Take I87 north to Van Cortlandt Park South. Stay right and follow the exit around and over the highway, through the 1st light then swing right again, at the flashing light, onto Broadway. The grounds are just ahead on the right. (Note that this route puts you down at the other end of the ground to the route mentioned above.)
